Iankovskyi Foundation has awarded the finalists of the Vth Ukrainian children's drawing contest "Ukraine – the land of talents"

On the 17th of June 2017, the Ukrainian House at Khreschyatyk Street has accommodated the solemn prize-awarding ceremony of the participants and winners of the V National children’s drawing contest “UKRAINE – THE LAND OF TALENTS”. The most large-scale creative competition among kids in Ukraine is being conducted for the fifth year in a row under the initiative and financial support of Igor Iankovskyi National Charity Foundation “Initiative for the Future”.

During the contest, 605 pieces by young artists aged from 5 to 17 years has been sent for the consideration of the jury from 22 regions of Ukraine: Volyn, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizjya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Luhansk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv.

By the quantity of pieces sent for the contest, the leader was the second age group (9-13 years), kids from which have sent 304 works. The most active were the young artists from Kyiv city, regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Zakarpattia, Donetsk and Mykolaiv. Creative appeal of Iankovskyi Foundation has been supported by 94 art-schools, among which the first place took Sviatoshyno after-school center (Kyiv city) with 44 works, the second places took Nikopol’s art-school №1 (Dnipropetrovsk region) with 40 pieces and the third place belongs to Mykolaiv children’s art-school (Mykolaiv city) with 31 works.

“Congratulations with the fifth, anniversary National children’s drawing competition! During these five years we’ve organized many exhibitions of winners and finalists of the contest both in Ukraine and abroad, notably – at the United Nations building in New York. Thus, the whole world could see our country through the eyes of our children.

Our world is changing, nowadays everybody is keen on digital technologies, IT. But to my opinion, the future belongs to creative people. The programs can already write themselves, the machines are being assembled by robots. Only in creative field nothing can replace a human being. I think that in 10-15 years the kids who create such wonderful pieces will be the most wanted in their profession. And these will be the creative professions that will push our future forward. Charity Foundation “Initiative for the Future” will be the one to support creative and talented youth in different fields: culture, science, innovations. We will continue our charitable efforts in the future”, - underlined Igor Iankovskyi, the founder of Charity Foundation “Initiative for the Future” while greeting the audience.

This year the expert jury comprised: Nataliya Poltavets – well-known artist from Kyiv, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine; Mariya Zvolynska – young winner of the III National Children’s Drawings Contest “FAITH.HOPE.LOVE”, permanent jury member of Children’s Arts Academy of Kyiv; Vasyl and Ivan Kostenko – extremely talented artistic duo (graphics) with unique creative outlook, founders of “Braty” Company; Oleg Kolotai - well-known artist from Lviv who currently resides in Rome (Italy), active participant of many world-renown art exhibitions, whose works are being placed in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Canada, Italy.

Following the results of professional’s jury work, there were chosen 30 finalists and 9 winners among them. The finalists of the age group from 5 to 8: Anastasiya Starovoit (Kyiv city), Valeriya Khitryk (Bucha city, Kyiv region), and the first place went to Anastasiya Taratina (Zhytomyr city) and her piece entitled “KOROLIEV’S ERA CONTINUES: WE DISCOVER NEW PLANETS”. The finalists of the age group from 9 to 13: Mariya Karpenko (Mykolaiv city), Amina Dovgiy (Monastyrets city, Zakarpatskyi region), and the first place went to Ameli Ichenska (Kyiv city) and her piece entitled “THE LAND OF INSPIRATION”. In the oldest age group from 14 to 17, the finalists were: Kseniya Pustovit (Mykolaiv city), Margaryta Grygorchuk (Chernivtsi city), and the first place, along with grang prize, went to Viktoriya Komarnytska (Kolomyia city, Ivano-Frankivsk region) for the piece “CREATIVE WORLD OF MARIYA PRYIMACHENKO”.

Traditionally, all young participants received honorable diplomas from the Foundation and the finalists were awarded with wonderful art-kits. The winners of the V National Children’s Drawing Competition “UKRAINE – THE LAND OF TALENTS” have been awarded with trip tickets to children’s camp “Artek – Bukovel” for creative and recreational rest. It is to be noted, that the Ukrainian House will host the unique art-exhibition of the contest’s participants and finalists.

The event has ended by creative master-classes, organized by Igor Iankovskyi Foundation: on milled fabric toys making, on paper-plastic compositions making, on toys-making from clay, on cards making in scrapbooking technique, on bags painting, on traditional dolls making (“motanka”). Kids and their parents were able to get involved into process and created their pieces in minutes.

During many years, Igor Iankovskyi National Charity Foundation “Initiative for the Future” is carrying about the creative generation of young Ukrainians. Due to this support, children are able to open their creative potential and spirituality, inheriting the creativity of renown Ukrainian artists.

Works of winners and finalists of the contest were represented not only in Ukraine, but also – abroad. Notably, the pieces of the III National Children’s Drawing Competition have been exhibited at the United Nations building in New York. Such exhibitions have been also conducted in Belgium, France and Poland.
